Why You’ll Love These Thanksgiving Desserts that Aren’t Pie

  • Offers a variety of easy and crowd-pleasing dessert ideas.
  • Perfect when you want to try other options besides pie.
  • Includes make-ahead recipes to ease the stress of holiday planning.
  • Great for potluck parties or hosting at home.

How Do You Serve Thanksgiving Desserts?

If I’m serving a larger group, I like to put a variety of desserts on a side table. I’ll set up the desserts at different heights to make things interesting.

On a table nearby, I’ll have a hot beverage station. The hot beverages include regular and decaf coffee, with either cordials or syrups for flavorings, hot chocolate in a slow cooker or thermos, or hot chocolate drops and hot milk for an interactive hot chocolate experience.

If it’s just a few people, I slice and serve the desserts individually.

Tips and Suggestions

  • If hosting a party or just want to serve more than one dessert, choose a mix of flavors, so there is something for everyone to enjoy. Something pumpkin, chocolate, creamy, a fruit option, and even bite-sized for someone who doesn’t want a slice of cake or pie.
  • Choose desserts that can be made ahead to free up your oven space for the main meal.
  • Keep serving sizes easy. Slice cakes and pies so people can easily serve themselves if you’re offering a few desserts.
