Pumpkin Spice Margarita
Many people think of margaritas as a summer drink. My Pumpkin Spice Margarita is a festive fall twist on the classic cocktail.
The margarita is America’s most popular drink, according to Liquor.com. With that in mind, I decided to make a fall version, so I present the pumpkin spice margarita. Light in pumpkin flavor and all margarita. It’s made with all the traditional margarita flavors, tequila (I used a Reposado), triple sec (I used a non-alcoholic) and lime juice.
Orange sugar crystals rim the glass for a very festive and fall look. Since I have a Key lime tree, I used those limes but Persian limes from the supermarket are just fine. I used a Reposado tequila in this margarita. Reposado tequilas are aged anywhere from two to eleven months. It’s a bit smoother than a silver tequila which is not aged at all.
This pumpkin spice margarita has both pumpkin and pumpkin spice in it. Tequila is a strong flavor and it should shine in a margarita but not be overpowering. If you like a more pumpkin flavor, add more pumpkin puree. This recipe makes one serving but it’s easily scaled for more servings.
