Tips and Suggestions
These tips and suggestions come from recipe testing this Oreo brownie recipe a few times.
- Don’t skip lining the baking pan with parchment paper. You can easily use the overhang to lift the brownies out for easy cutting.
- Gently but firmly press the chopped Oreos onto the top of the brownie batter. You don’t want them falling off when you cut the brownies.
- Substitute other flavors of Oreos, such as Birthday Cake Oreos or s’mores Oreos, to change up the taste of this Oreo brownie recipe. Use peanut butter Oreos for a take on buckeye brownies.

How do you cut brownies that were baked in a square pan?
To get 16 servings from this pan of brownies cut the square in half then each half in half for three cuts. Turn the brownies 90 degrees and make the same cuts, one in the middle and one on each side of the middle. See the photo above.
How do you store brownies with Oreos?
Store this Oreo brownie recipe in an airtight container at room temperature. I don’t recommend keeping any leftover Oreo brownies in the freezer because the Oreo cookies may get soggy.

How do you serve Oreo brownies?
These decadent brownies are perfect as is, but a dusting of powdered sugar over the cooled brownies adds a finishing touch. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, or dark chocolate chips, and drizzle the melted chocolate over the brownies for a rich chocolate flavor.
If you substitute peanut butter Oreos, drizzle melted peanut butter chips over them.
Serve these brownies with milk, coffee, an eggnog latte, or hot chocolate. If you’re serving these treats on a dessert bar, consider including warm milk and hot chocolate drops for a fun, interactive treat.

Can I use Double Stuffed Oreos?
While you can, the regular Oreos hold their shape better, but the Double Stuff will add more creamy pockets. If you use Double Stuff, use less of it on the topping.
How do I tell if brownies are done?
Use the toothpick method. Insert a toothpick near the center, trying not to go through any Oreos. If it comes out wet, the Oreo brownies need a few more minutes. If there are a few moist crumbs on the toothpick, they are done. Use a cake tester if you have one.
