Tips and Tricks
Make evenly sized cookies by using a cookie scoop. When your cookies are the same size, they cook evenly.
Save some M&Ms and sprinkles to place on top of the cookie dough balls. This isn’t necessary, but it makes them look pretty.
Cookies usually take 10 – 12 minutes to bake, but these take a little longer. When I checked them at 10 minutes, they were still soft in the center, so I left them in for a total of 15 minutes. My advice is to check them at 10 minutes, then again at 12 minutes, and decide if they need more time.
Allow them to cool on the baking sheet for a full five minutes, as they are fragile. These red, white, and blue cake mix cookies need time to set up.
Pro Tip
Switch up the M&Ms and sprinkles for other occasions. Use red and green for Christmas or pastel for Easter or Spring. Use everyday M&Ms with rainbow sprinkles for anytime of year.

Ideas for serving patriotic cookies
You can either serve these cookies as part of a dessert table or wrap them up in festive bags as a take-home treat. For the dessert table, a festive serving tray will make the cookies pop.
Coffee, tea, milk, or ice-cold strawberry lemonade can all be served to accompany the cookies.
Serve red white and blue cookies at a backyard cookout, holiday bake sale, picnics, or take them as a sweet treat when you watch the fireworks display.
