Can I use a different flavor of cake mix?
Yes! I made lemon crinkle cookies, and you could certainly substitute a chocolate cake mix for the strawberry.
Why didn’t my crinkle cookies crinkle?
There could be a couple of reasons. Too little powdered sugar when you roll the cookie dough. You really want to coat it completely. Don’t shake any sugar off. If the dough is too warm, chill the dough in the refrigerator, then roll the dough balls in sugar.
