Cookies and Cream Muddy Buddies
Whether you enjoy cookies and cream muddy buddies as a snack, movie night treat, or make favors for a party, it’s a delicious version of a favorite treat.
Many of my friends who have kids have been having movie nights for years. Snacks are a big part of the night. We started movie nights many years ago and I love making snacks. My kids were delighted with this mix.
While you can probably use the corn Chex, I prefer the rice Chex. I think it’s more flavor neutral than the corn variety.
No Oreo’s?
You can use the Nabisco chocolate wafers. Use your favorite chocolate but make sure it’s fresh. Why? Older chocolate is fine for chocolate chip cookies but doesn’t melt well.
This recipe for cookies and cream muddy buddies came from my good friend Sandi. She’s my cooking buddy.
We take cooking classes together, bounce ideas off of each other, and just talk about recipes. This cookies and cream snack mix has become a new favorite and most requested lately.
We like my white chocolate cranberry popcorn for movie, or even game night as well as Easter muddy buddies too.
You may know this treat by it’s other name, puppy chow. There are so many varieties and flavors. Some are made with peanut butter but this one is not, making it safe for those with peanut allergies. Store the mix in a tightly sealed container however, I’ve used a zip lock bag as well.

And my favorite movie night snack is usually popcorn or chips. Given the choice, I always pick salty over sweet 🙂
