- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 3 cups ziti uncooked, preferably smooth
- 1 jar 24 oz. pasta sauce, use your favorite or homemade
- 1-1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
- 1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
In a large skillet brown ground beef and drain. Return meat to skillet. Stir in water and bring to boil.
Once mixture is boiling stir in pasta and cover immediately. Simmer on medium-low heat about 15 minutes or until pasta is tender.
Add pasta sauce and 1/2 cup of the shredded mozzarella cheese and gently mix. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses then cover. Cook 3 minutes longer or until mozzarella is melted.
