Cordon Bleu Appetizers

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup 4 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
  • 3/4 cup diced fully cooked ham
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon chopped Italian parsley for garnish
  • 18 slices French bread 1/2 inch thick, each slice cut in half or use a French baguette sliced 1/2 inch thick

Instructions

  • Saute onions in butter until translucent. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • In a bowl, beat cream cheese and mustard until smooth. Stir in the Swiss cheese, ham, and onions. Spread 1 tablespoon mixture over each bread slice. Place on an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with parsley before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
