Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon dried chili pepper flakes

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat combine the honey and dried chili pepper flakes.
  • Heat the honey mixture to just about boiling, but do not boil, stirring frequently so it doesn't burn.
  • Stir over heat for 10 minutes, then remove from heat to cool completely. Taste for spiciness. If you're happy with the heat, strain the chili flakes and store in a glass container.
  • If you prefer more heat, store in a glass jar with the chili flakes. Stir and taste after a few days. Once you reach the heat level you desire, strain the chili flakes and store the hot honey.
