Peel and wash the goldenberries. (Peeling means removing the paper husk.)
Slice each berry in half and place in a small saucepan with the sugar and 2 tablespoons of water over medium heat.
Simmer gently, adjusting the heat as necessary, until the mixture is the consistency of a loose jam.
Raise the heat and allow to boil until a jam-like consistency is achieved but not longer than 3-4 minutes or the jam will turn to candy, which could be fun too.
Notes
Start with 2 tablespoons of water and add more if needed.
