Preheat the oven to 350℉. Line two baking sheets with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper. Set aside.
Using a stand or hand mixer, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until all ingredients are incorporated.
1 box chocolate cake mix, 15.25 ounces size, ⅓ cup vegetable oil, 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Mix in the butterscotch chips.

Using a tablespoon scoop, drop cookie dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets about 2" apart.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until cookies are set, being careful not to overbake them.
Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes until set. Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
