Chicken Noodle Soup with Caramelized Onions

- 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or cubed
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1 large onion halved and sliced
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 3 medium carrots sliced 1/4 inch thick
- 1 cup wide egg noodle pasta
- Freshly ground pepper to taste
Melt butter in 10" skillet over medium-high heat. Add onions, reduce heat, and cook until they begin to caramelize, stirring frequently.
Reduce heat to medium. Cook until onions are tender and nicely browned or caramelized, stirring occasionally. Remove skillet from heat.
Heat chicken broth, pepper, and carrots in Dutch oven over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
Stir pasta and chicken in saucepan. Reduce heat to medium. Cook 10 min. or until pasta is tender.
Stir in onions and serve immediately.
