When the weather decided to take a turn for the colder here in Florida, I like to make soup for weekend lunches. Sometimes I pair it with a sandwich, like hot Colby ham sandwich or roast beef, ham, and bacon club sandwich. Other times a salad such as Columbia’s 1905 salad recipe, which is a favorite in my family.

French Onion Soup

When it does get cold here my family loves to warm up with soup. We all have our favorites. I love a good French onion soup, my husband loves a good bean and bacon or chicken and rice soup while our youngest son will pick broccoli Cheddar or chicken noodle every single time.

The instant pot and slow cooker are two favorite ways for many people to make soup. I prefer the old fashioned stovetop method because I don’t mind watching and stirring it. The thought of simmering soup with the delicious smell wafting through the house is the sign of delicious comfort food. I just don’t think you get the aroma with a slow cooker or instant pot, though I do understand the need. There are days when either appliance comes in handy.

So, when the temperatures turn cold, where ever you live, warm up with one of these amazing soups. There are 10 to choose from in this round-up so you’re certain to find something everyone will enjoy.
