I love baking for my family any time of the year but especially around Valentine’s Day. Everything from cakes to cupcakes to cookies. I always loved making treats for school Valentine parties. Now I have them waiting when my boys get home from school. Here are some baking essentials for Valentine’s Day.
I have a collection of Bundt pans and honestly, I do use them often. Bundt cakes are easy and pretty desserts for any occasion. I especially love to take them to pot lucks because they transport easily. This tiered heart shaped Bundt pan would made a lovely dessert for the family on Valentine’s day. There are so many possibilities. Frost and decorate this cake, sprinkle it with powdered sugar or drizzle it with a glaze. Use this pan for anniversaries or just to say I love you any time of the year.
Sometimes I like to make individual desserts for my family. They are fun and my boys enjoy having a treat all to themselves. Plus, there’s a bit of portion control which makes me feel better. And, no fighting about who got a bigger piece of cake. This cute mini Bundt cakelet pan with the tiered heart design makes six cakes.
Do you like to make candy? I have a few candy molds that I use throughout the year. I often make it for gifts and hostess gift. All it involves is melting some chocolate and getting it into molds. Real flowers can be quite expensive around the holidays so why not make up some rose chocolates? I like plastic molds rather than silicone ones. I’ve never had much luck with them but I do know many who like and use them.
So once you’ve made those chocolates or even candies like my chocolate mixed nut clusters you need a cute box to put them in. Mini decorated treat boxes are perfect. Fill with an assortment of goodies including cookies, candy or my delicious and festive Valentine brown sugar bars. Surprise teachers, coworkers or event your mail carrier. A sweet treat is sure to bring a smile to their face.
This Valentine’s Day cookie making and decorating kit is sure to be a fun activity for kids of all ages. You could even get a kit for each child to make and decorate their own cookie to share with friends or classmates. Adults can get in on the fun too. Because who doesn’t love to play with their food.
If you are decorating cookies you definitely need sprinkles and sugars. You also definitely need valentine candy and sprinkles if you’re making any sort of candy bark or cookie. I like to melt chocolate and mix in a variety of colorful sprinkles, fun candy, nuts and dried fruit. Candy bark is another great way to get kids in the kitchen.
You can also use the candy and sprinkles on cupcakes. Cute cupcake liners with hearts or a set of liners with toppers always make things more festive. Who doesn’t love a cupcake in a seasonal liner with a cute topper?
