Tips and Suggestions

When I make this baked ham sandwich, I use my favorite hamburger buns from my grocery store bakery. Use your favorite rolls or easily make them into sliders for a party. Think Hawaiian rolls and serve them for game-day parties.

If you can’t do poppy seeds, it’s OK to omit them. You don’t want to skip making the mustard glaze.

I’ve also used leftover Honey Baked ham when I’ve had it. You can whatever you have on hand.

What can I serve with sandwiches?

Hot Colby ham sandwiches can be served for dinner or lunch. If serving for lunch, I usually just offer a variety of chips, classic broccoli salad, easy summer fruit salad, or a homemade potato salad.

When I serve sandwiches for dinner, I try to add something hearty. My family loves it when I make onion strings or garlic parmesan-crusted potatoes.

When cooler weather rolls around, these hot Colby ham sandwiches are delicious paired with a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup.
