Halloween is almost here and it’s a special time in my house. We always enjoy handing out candy to the neighborhood kids but it’s also my husbands birthday. This year is also the end of an era. My boys have really no interest in trick or treating. It’s a bittersweet sadness. I’ve gathered some neat product ideas for new Halloween ideas.
This sugar skull rolling pin is perfect for making fun Halloween sugar cookies. I’m sure you could use it for making a pie crust as well. Use your favorite cut out sugar cookie recipe. Roll it out with this fun rolling pin and cut out shapes. Circles or squares work nicely but if you have a Halloween cookie cutters, they work too.
If you don’t have Halloween cookie cutters, maybe you should. Cookies aren’t the only thing you can make. Not only can you use them with the rolling pin above but you can make fun homemade tortilla chips. Just cut out flour tortillas, fry up in some oil and sprinkle with spices or cinnamon sugar, depending on how you are using them. They are perfect with sweet or savory dips.
Are cakes your thing? A fun mummy cake pan will put smiles on your family’s face. Kids and grown ups alike will want a slice of this cute cake. Make a cake from scratch or use a boxed cake mix. I love character cake pans from Wilton. I own quite a few, although this is not one of them. I do have the jack-o-lantern and I’ve used it many a Halloween season as a birthday cake and to make for parties at school.
While I like to make cakes, I also like to make cupcakes. Halloween cupcake liners are perfect for muffins too. Some mornings I make blueberry muffins for breakfast before the kids head off to school and I like to put them in seasonal liners. Even now that they are older, deep down I know (ok, think) they do enjoy the little details. Even before I had kids, I always liked to make things special. I think I learned that from my Mom.
To really get in the Halloween spirit you need a festive apron. There are some that look like a costume but I like those that are more traditional in style. This fun skeleton apron is not only cute but both Mom or Dad could use it. It’s 100% cotton and comes with extra long ties.
How do you like to make Halloween special for your goblins?
