Greasing a pan is a mess task. Until recently, I always used my Mom’s method of wrapping a paper towel around my fingers and smearing the Crisco in the pan. It was mess and the shortening always ended up where it shouldn’t be. My solution? Use a plastic sandwich bag, zippered or not, and place your hand in the bag. Then dip into the Crisco can and get what you will need to grease your cake pans or what ever. Easily scrape you hand against the side to return any leftover to the can. Viola! Much less mess!
