How do you make White Chocolate Oreo Fudge?

Living in Florida it’s not always cold during the holidays. When we get invitations to potluck parties I love to bring a tray of fudge for the dessert table. First, fudge is a very popular sweet during the holidays, and, second, it doesn’t melt, making it perfect for warmer climates at any time of year.

Sprinkle some of the Oreo cookie crumbs in the bottom of the prepared pan.

Melt the white chocolate with the sweetened condensed milk over low heat in a medium saucepan.

Once all of the chips have melted, pour the mixture over the cookie crumbs in the pan. Working quickly, smooth out the fudge and press the remaining cookie crumbs into the top of the fudge.

Cover and refrigerate to set the fudge. Using the foil overhang, remove the fudge to a cutting board and cut into squares for serving and storing.

Tips and Suggestions for Success

If you don’t read any other part of this post, read this section.

  • Use a fresh bag of white chocolate chips. After testing this recipe a few times with different brands of white chips, in my experience, the Ghirardelli brand melts the best. Nestle white chips can be fickle, meaning sometimes they melt well and sometimes they don’t. Store brands have never melted well.
  • While I’ll never turn down a Double Stuff Oreo, they are just too much for this recipe. The abundance of cream filling would compete with the white chocolate and make the fudge overly sweet.
  • Use an 8×8 square pan lined with aluminum foil, not parchment paper, and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
  • You want chunks of Oreos, not pulverized, so put the cookies in a Ziploc bag and use a rolling pin to break up the cookies.
  • Once you have put the white chocolate mixture into the prepared pan, sprinkle the cookie crumbs on top of the fudge and gently press them into the mixture.
  • Work quickly so the fudge doesn’t set before you get the crumbs on top.

How do you serve fudge?

Fudge makes a great gift, whether it’s a hostess gift, a Secret Santa gift, or a treat for co-workers. I like to cut this delicious candy into small pieces.

Include this fudge on a dessert and sweet tray with fudge frosted brownies and chocolate nut clusters or other individual treats. This simple fudge recipe is also a great addition to movie night snacks.

How do you store fudge?

Store cookies and cream fudge at room temperature in an airtight container. It’s best not to refrigerate it because the cookie crumbs will get soggy.

Since this recipe for cookies and cream fudge only uses part of a package, other recipes that use Oreos include Oreo Fluff, with just 2 ingredients, and chocolate Oreo bars.
