Enjoy this pecan honey butter on warm bread, bagels, or even cornbread. It’s easy to make with the ingredients you have on hand.

Pecan Honey Butter on a butter knife resting on a Mason jar.I love buying local honey. It’s said if you have seasonal allergies you should buy local honey to help combat them. While no one in my family really does, I do like to support local beekeepers.

My grandfather had bees on his farm in Illinois. Somewhere I have a photo of him tending them. As I mentioned earlier this week, we don’t have great farmer’s markets. I purchased this honey when we were staying outside Asheville not long ago.

Actually, I purchased a lot of honey that day because my boys kept trying different varieties so we came home with a few jars.

The pecans I used came from the same trip however I purchased them in Georgia, the pecan capital of the country.

This pecan honey butter came about, one due to my abundance of honey but also because we love honey butter and it can be so expensive to buy.

I tossed in the pecans on a whim.

Every honey is different. You can read about a few different varieties in my post, Tupelo Honey Key Lime Vinaigrette. The flavor depends on the flowers the bees pollinate.

While this honey butter is easy to make and very delicious, taste it as you go along making it. Some honey varieties have a strong flavor while others are mild.

I like to store my pecan honey butter in small mason jars with lids. I’m also thinking of making this as gifts for the holidays for friends and neighbors.

  1. I’ve heard that about local honey and allergies, too. We have a lot of allergies here so I’ve been meaning to find more ways to get it into our diets.

  2. Mmmm! My dad’s bees will hopefully make enough honey to share soon. In the meantime, I do try to buy local. I can’t wait to spread this on everything!
